Capturing door and window openings against the floor plan
- Doors
- Windows
- Data Entry
Walking a shell and measuring forty openings is only half the job; the other half is knowing afterwards which number belonged to which opening. The T1R Range sends each reading to the plan on your phone as it is taken, so the dimension attaches to the opening on the drawing instead of to a row in a notebook. Nothing has to be matched up later, which is where a schedule normally picks up its transpositions.
How the opening keeps its number
- Dimension attaches to the opening on the plan
- T1R sends it as the reading is taken
- No matching numbers to openings later
- Walk the shell without stopping to write
- Schedule comes off the T1R, not a notebook
Openings are measured in a commercial shell, concrete jambs carrying layout marks and hinge hardware already set. A reading in the teens is taken at one opening, and a phone is shown with a floor plan open and the opening highlighted on it. The walk continues across a dusty slab to the next opening rather than stopping to write.
