How do you measure an inside dimension without bending the tape?

Bending a blade into a corner ruins the blade and gives you a number you then have to add to in your head. Back-of-tape mode on the T1M Utility registers the body against one face and reports the true inside dimension, already accounting for the tool. For a trim return or a cabinet opening that is the figure you cut to, with nothing added afterwards.

Measure from the back of the tape instead of the hook. Bending a blade into a corner to read an inside dimension is a destructive way to get a number you cannot fully trust. Activating back-of-tape mode lets you touch the body against one face, read the true inside measurement, save it and move on.
