Measuring a baseboard run into a named group
- Finish Carpentry
- Baseboard
- BOLDR
Baseboard is a lap of the room and a set of lengths that only mean anything in sequence: this wall, then the return, then the short piece beside the door. The T1R Range runs its green line along the base and each figure drops into a named group in BOLDR on the iPad, so the list on screen reads in the order you walked it. The saw works from that rather than from a scrap of trim.
Why the order matters
- Baseboard lengths only mean anything in order
- The green line holds the run along the base
- Each figure drops into a named group
- The list reads the way you walked it
- The saw works from the group, not a scrap
A finished room with blue tape along the base and the floor covered is measured wall by wall, the green line running along the baseboard and into the corner. An iPad is then held up showing a named group on the BOLDR board, tiles reading 149 15/16, 209 3/8, 65 3/16 and 33 5/8 in the order they were taken.
