Measuring a tub surround without putting the tool down

A tub surround is a small room's worth of measurements taken in a space with nowhere to set anything down: the tub lip wants a blade hooked on it, the ceiling above wants a shot, and every figure has to survive the walk out to the saw. The T1R Range changes between tape and laser on the tool itself and sends each reading to the phone as it is captured, so nothing is balanced on the rim and nothing is repeated from memory.
How a small wet room gets measured
- Nowhere to set a tool down in a surround
- Blade hooks the tub lip, laser takes the rest
- Switch modes on the T1R itself
- T1R sends readings to the phone as captured
- Nothing repeated from memory at the saw
A bath and its tiled surround are measured, the blade hooked over the tub lip and run up the wall, then the tool switched between modes for the longer shots. A phone showing a blue keypad sits on the tub edge and the readings appear on it as they are taken. The display steps through readings in the forties.
