Stair layout is a sequence of different kinds of measurement in a row: a total rise off the deck, a tread depth inside a notch, a run taken back from a reference. Digging through a menu for each one is how the rhythm dies. The Quick Actions menu on the T1M Utility puts the mode changes one press away, so referencing the back of the case, zeroing where the blade sits and saving into the current group all happen without the tool getting in the way.
