Can a miter saw cut aluminum extrusion?

Fabricators often buy a dedicated chop saw for extrusion when the miter saw already on the bench will do it with a carbide blade. Adding the M1 Caliber gives that saw the repeatable length control used on wood: touch off the blade, zero for blade width, slide to the number and cut. Framing, glazing and rack work all run off one station.

Most already can. A miter saw with carbide-tooth blades chops through aluminum extrusion with no change to the saw. With the M1 Caliber mounted you get the same repeatable length control you would use on wood: touch off the blade, zero to account for the blade width, slide to five inches and cut.
