Can window measurements go straight into the replacement order?
- Glazing
- Windows
- Remodeling
A replacement window is built to the number you sent, so a transposed height is a unit that arrives wrong and an install date that moves a month. Between the opening and the order there are usually three hand-offs: tape to notepad, notepad to phone, phone to the quoting system. The T1 Tomahawk removes two of them by saving each reading over Bluetooth into the order fields as it is taken. The width and height that get quoted are the ones the laser and the blade actually read.
How the order gets the numbers
- Width and height save as measured
- T1 laser catches the far side
- Two retyping steps removed
- Order fields fill over Bluetooth
- T1 record saved before you leave
The video measures a window that is being replaced: width first, with the laser turned on to make the far side easier to catch, coming in at 81 5/8, then the height taken off the sill. Both land in the software automatically over Bluetooth, and the record is saved before the tool leaves the opening.
