A crew running mixed tapes has no way to tell which one is right when two cuts disagree, and comparing tapes against each other only tells you that they differ. Any tape, any scale. Three very different tapes went into the same Accuracy Block here: a 16ft DeWalt Atomic, which read dead on at zero, a smaller metric Stanley, which came back about 200 microns short, and an engineer scale tape, also dead on. Size and unit do not matter, only where the mark lands.
