A machine frame squares up only if every rail in a set matches, and T-slot is unforgiving because the fasteners give you nothing to pull the frame back into. The M1 Caliber reads the extrusion as it slides against the fence and compensates for blade width, so length is set at the saw instead of transferred from a tape and a mark. Each figure is captured on the display, which is where the cut list for the next rail comes from.

A length of T-slot aluminium extrusion is fed along the bed of a cold saw with the M1 Caliber mounted on the fence. The extrusion is clamped in the vise and the reading is set on the display before the head comes down. There is no separate marking pass and no tape laid along the profile between cuts.
