A stop block is a jig you build, clamp, check and rebuild every time the length changes, which is fine for one length and expensive for six. The M1 Caliber zeroed on the blade gives repeat cuts straight off the display, and changing length is typing a number rather than unclamping and re-setting. Blocking and base run at the same speed whether the lengths repeat or not.
