The display and the blade are two separate decisions, and only one of them is fixed. A T1 Tomahawk screen shows feet, inches, millimetres or centimetres whenever you want; the printing on the blade is what you read when you are eyeing a mark instead of the screen. English blades carry inches, metric blades carry centimetres and millimetres, and split blades carry inches on top with millimetres and centimetres below. All three are interchangeable, so a shop running both systems can stock what it needs.
