How do you check clearance above overhead pipe?

Overhead space is where trades collide. A hanger set without checking the gap above the run leaves nothing for the sprinkler main or the duct that arrives next week, and the fix is cutting rod back down after everything is strapped. The video measures the space between a round overhead run on threaded-rod hangers and the structure above it, reading clearances of roughly 3 7/32, 9 1/2, 14 7/16 and 19 7/16 inches. A blade pushed up into a gap like that bows and reads long. The laser returns the same dimension from below, standing on the floor, without touching the pipe at all.
