Base and casing are cut to a room dimension that has to reach the miter station intact, and rewriting it once is where the mistype happens. The T1R Range carries the reading from the wall to the saw on the tool itself, so the number you cut to is the number you took. Long runs and returns come off the same captured figure.

Take the room dimension with the laser, then cut to it at the saw without re-measuring. The reading carries from the wall to the miter station on the tool itself, so the number you cut to is the number you took. For baseboard and casing that removes the step where a measurement gets rewritten and mistyped.
