How do you measure and mark boards straight off the stack?

Nobody carries a bench out to the deck, so boards get measured on top of the pile with a tape in one hand and a pencil in your teeth. The T1M Utility's removable reference square hooks over the board and squares the line at the same time as the tape reads it, so measuring and marking are one motion on an unsupported stack. Each figure is saved as it is taken, which is the cut list the saw works from at the end of the run.

Boards are worked on top of a stack outdoors, the T1M hooked over the edge with its square against the face. The display steps through readings in the high sixties and low seventies as the tool is pulled along, and lines are marked at each one. The rest of the pile and the surrounding greenery sit behind the work; there is no bench.
