A gutter machine runs coil continuously, so the only place to control length is at the outfeed as the material leaves the rollers. The M1 Caliber reads flat material as it feeds, which means the cut happens at the length the elevation actually needs rather than at a mark somebody eyeballed on a moving run. It fits the seven inch machine as it does the five.
