What does the green laser line on a tape measure do?

The end of a tape is a guess about where the measurement actually lands, especially across a joist bay or against a stud face you cannot see square on. The T1 Tomahawk's green line projects the tool's reference face onto the material, so the point being measured to is visible rather than sighted down the blade. You mark what the tool read, not what you think it read.
