Large format layout lives or dies on the first course, and lippage tolerance on a 1200mm tile leaves nothing to absorb an error carried down the room. Switching the T1 Tomahawk to millimetres reads the tile as it was actually cut instead of the nominal inch size on the carton, so your grid, your grout joint and your cut at the far wall are all set from the real dimension. The dry-lay confirms what the display already told you.

Large format tile gets sold in US units but cut to metric standards. A tile listed as 24 by 48 measures 600 millimeters on the short side and 1,200 on the long side, both a little under the inch figure on the box. That difference shows up in your grout lines and your layout if you set out from the nominal number instead of the real one.
