Cutting two different extrusion lengths without re-measuring

Short extrusion parts come off a stick in a run, and the slow part is not the cut but pulling a tape and marking between every one. The M1 Caliber lets the readout be re-zeroed against the blade with the stock still clamped in the saw, so the next length is dialled from where the last cut ended. Blade width is already accounted for, so an eight inch piece and a seven inch piece both come off the same stick at the length asked for.

Aluminium extrusion is cut on a cold saw with the M1 Caliber mounted on the fence. The arm is dropped on the extrusion, the blade touched off and zeroed to account for its width, then the stock slid to eight inches, clamped and cut. Rather than removing the piece, the readout is zeroed again and the second cut is made at seven inches.
