Cutting closet-bend and supply penetrations into a sheet on the bench beats cutting them in place on your knees with a jigsaw. The T1 Tomahawk's laser picks up the centre of each opening from a common reference at the wall, so both holes are dimensioned from the same datum and land where the rough-in actually is. The panel drops flat over the stub-ups first time, with no trial fitting and no oversized hole to patch.

Cutting holes in a panel before it goes down means the locations have to come off the floor accurately. Touching off the wall and shooting the laser onto each hole picks up the centre line of each one, and those readings go on screen together so both holes get laid out on the sheet from the same reference.
