A digital tape earns trust the same way a conventional one does: by still reading true after a year of being pulled, dropped and stood on. The T1 Tomahawk is run on a cycle rig before it ships, extending and retracting the blade continuously so the pattern the tool reads is proven to survive the wear rather than assumed to. Tools are run on a test rig on a production floor, with a rack of units mounted in a row along a rail and mechanisms cycling fast enough to blur. Blades are extended and retracted repeatedly under machine control rather than by hand. The whole rack runs at once alongside the rest of the shop equipment.
