Measuring an exterior window for trim against a photo of it
- Windows
- Trim & Molding
- BOLDR
Exterior trim is cut to the opening, not to the drawing, and the openings on one elevation are rarely identical. The window is measured on the wall with the T1M Utility and each figure is dropped onto a photo of that same window in BOLDR: 77 across the head, 71 down the jamb, 69 at the sill. The trim order then points at a picture of the actual opening, which settles which window the short one was.
Why put it on the photo
- Trim is cut to the opening, not the plan
- Openings on one elevation rarely match
- Figures dropped onto a photo of the window
- Head, jamb and sill each tagged in place
- The order points at the real opening
An exterior window in a house-wrapped wall is measured with the T1M Utility, the blade run up the jamb against the frame. A tablet in a protective case is then held up showing the BOLDR photo annotation view: a photograph of that same window with blue dimension tags placed directly on it at the head, the jamb and the sill.
