Three tools cover most of a working day and none of them covers all of it: a tape for anything you can reach, a laser for anything you cannot, and a level for anything that has to read plumb. The T1R Range carries all three, which matters on compliance work where a grab bar or a ramp has to be recorded in degrees rather than eyeballed. Every reading, whichever mode produced it, lands in the same saved list.

Three modes are demonstrated on the tool in turn. Tape mode is used for pulling a series of measurements and saving them to a list read back with the arrow keys; laser mode is shown for distances too long to pull a tape to; the level indicates when something is plumb and gives the angle in degrees, called out as useful for ADA compliance.
